Idea 1 – The ‘Flex Pan.’ – This acrylic pan differs from most since it IS NOT prebuilt with a tile flanges. The tile flanges are added after the fact. You may wonder, why is this good? Well, by adding the flanges after you can use ‘standard sized’ 48” x 36” base and it will work for a one-sided, two-sided (in a corner) or even 3-sided glass enclosure. Actually, the same standard ‘Flex Pan’ can be used in five different configurations (4 of which normally require a custom-made shower base).
Thanks for giving me the idea that brass and gold tone fixtures can add depth and dimension to a bathroom. This part of our house needs remodeling, and we’re looking for nice designs and ideas. Brass and gold fixtures are elegant additions to our bathroom. I’ll be looking for a remodeling contractor to help me start my bathroom’s restoration. Thanks for the advice!
If you’ve been ‘suggestively sold’ the largest order of fries at McDonalds or a super-sized drink at the gas station you know how EASY it is to spend a little more and consume too much. When it comes to bathroom and shower remodeling a little more can turn into a little more which morphs into a lot more money. Then you say, “OUCH, where the heck (OK you use a different word than that) did our cash go?”
A project many homeowners choose to take on during a kitchen remodel, or simply to update their kitchen, is a kitchen backsplash. Depending on how complex you want your backsplash to be, this could be as simple as attaching an adhesive to the wall. Tile backsplashes are more complex are require more planning, but still an achievable DIY kitchen remodeling project. For a tile backsplash, you’ll likely need a tile cutter to fit evenly around outlets and countertop edges. Spacers will help keep tiles even as you adhere them to the wall. Always let tiles sit a full 24 hours before applying grout.

If you have limited budget and need to keep the same footprint. Don’t worry, you can still give the impression that the space is a little bigger through the use of some tricks specifically made for that purpose. For instance, pedestal sinks are best known for making the room look more spacious, then clear glass shower doors are more preferable than the shower curtains on tubs as this would block the light and make it seem more enclosed. Likewise, you can also consider using a big mirror as an alternative to a small medicine cabinet mirror. Doing something like this could visually double the space around your vanity area.

It really helped when you said that getting an efficient lighting design can help eliminate shadows on faces. That was a common problem we have in our bathroom before. It was too dark and my husband easily gets cuts when shaving. With this bathroom improvement project, I’d be sure to get help from a professional so we can remedy this lighting issue. Thanks for the very helpful tip!
According to Marc Appleton, “half the experience of living indoors is seeing the outdoors” So when remodeling your house install large windows. However, you might not have the budget to change your windows in that case play around with paint and paint your windows a shade lighter than the rest of the room to maximize the light coming through the windows.
Ventilation. Ventilation. Ventilation. Moisture is your bathroom’s greatest enemy. Mold and mildew will make quick work of any renovation you’ve done so be sure to install a vent fan of appropriate CFMs for the square footage of your bathroom. The rough guide is one CFM per square foot for bathrooms of one hundred square feet or smaller. New designs are quieter and more stylish than ever and are a must have for any bathroom remodel.

Marilyn – Flexstone is an OK product. It is a 1/4″ thick panel which is digitally printed on the front. However, if you want a more realistic look, I would lean heavily towards the laminate wall panels. They are 50% thicker (at 3/8″ thick) come in tile, stone and high gloss panels and are simple to install by one person. I’ve included a link here for you to check them out. If you need more input feel free to reach out to me (or one of my team) – Mike – 877-668-5888. The vanity could very well be the largest piece of “furniture” in your bathroom. As such, you have a prime opportunity to show off your style with a vanity makeover! In a DIY bathroom remodel, you may not feel completely comfortable with replacing the vanity altogether…or you might. But if you don’t, there are still some great ways that you, yourself, can take your bathroom vanity from drab to fab.
You would be surprised at the number of inexpensive yet quality products you can purchase to renovate your bathroom. If you are looking to install new toilet fixture you can check our Toto Toilet, and if you are not planning to install any new items, you can fix up your existing toilet by changing the paint, changing cabinet paints and by fixing the pressure of shower etc.
From the tiles that will go on the walls to the appliances that will be installed, anyone who has completed a home renovation before knows that it is better to have just about everything picked out before you begin the work. This is because you will need to make numerous decisions once the renovation starts, and the more you’ve made beforehand, the better off—and better educated—you will be. Online tools like Pinterest, showroom visits, and/or material samples can help, and don’t be afraid to start purchasing items to get the ball rolling.
For those who are thinking of putting their home up for sale five years from now, then it’s important to ensure that the value of your property would increase over time, consider having your home renovated for that purpose. On the other hand, if you’re planning to live in your home for a couple of years, it’s very important to ensure that the design of your bathroom is something you would really love and fit with your style and preferences.
